This policy explains how Orbital Collective Pte. Ltd. (“Orbital”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Singapore, handles personal data when you visit this website or join the Orby waitlist.

Orby is still in development. This policy covers the website and the waitlist only. When the Orby app launches, it will come with its own privacy policy, and we will tell everyone on the waitlist before it applies to them.

1. What we collect

  • When you join the waitlist: your email address. Our hosting provider also records the IP address, browser type and page you signed up from with each signup, which is used to filter out spam.
  • When you visit the website: like any website, our hosting provider receives the technical details needed to deliver pages to you, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time. We don’t use this to identify you.
  • When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.

That is all. There are no accounts or payments on this website, and we don’t ask for anything else.

2. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Its fonts, images and video are served from our own site, so visiting it doesn’t contact third parties.

The site keeps one value in your browser’s session storage: how far the background video has played, so it continues smoothly from page to page. It stays on your device, is never sent to us and is deleted when you close the tab.

3. How we use your information

  • To tell you when Orby launches and invite you to try it.
  • To send you occasional updates about Orby while you are on the waitlist.
  • To reply when you contact us.
  • To keep the website and the waitlist secure and free of spam.

We don’t sell personal data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you based on it.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the legal bases are: your consent, for waitlist emails; our legitimate interest in running a secure website, for technical data and spam filtering; and our legitimate interest in answering you, for messages you send us.

4. Who we share it with

  • Netlify, Inc. (United States) hosts this website and stores waitlist signups on our behalf, including screening them for spam. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
  • An email service, if we start using one to send waitlist emails. We will name it here before we do.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, and a successor, if Orby or Orbital is merged or sold, who would remain bound by this policy.

Nobody else.

5. Where your data is stored

Netlify stores data in the United States and serves the website from locations around the world, so your data may be processed outside Singapore. When it is, we make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act, through our provider’s contractual commitments.

6. How long we keep it

  • Your waitlist email: until you leave the waitlist. If you don’t join Orby, we delete it no later than 12 months after Orby launches.
  • Messages you send us: for as long as we need them to deal with your request.
  • Technical data: for as long as Netlify keeps its logs under its own policy.

7. Your choices and rights

  • You can leave the waitlist at any time: every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can simply write to us.
  • You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw your consent. In the EU and UK you can also object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format.

We reply within 30 days. We may first ask you to confirm that you control the email address in question. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission or your local data protection authority, but please contact us first so we can try to put it right.

8. Security

The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS, and only the people at Orbital who need waitlist data can access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you give us.

9. Children

The waitlist is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 13, please don’t sign up. If we learn that a child has, we will delete their email address.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use waitlist emails, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
